Please note that any student wishing to be considered for any of the Landscape Architecture and Horticulture scholarships and/or awards MUST FILL OUT THIS APPLICATION and submit it to Linda Palmarozza in the department office, 201 Dixon Hall, along with AN ESSAY that discusses the questions on the application form.

SCHOOL OF ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN ALUMNI ASSOCIATION AWARD
Recognizes a graduating student in Landscape Architecture or Horticulture for dedication, unselfishness, and contribution to the School of Environmental Design.

Amount: $100 award.
Eligibility: Landscape Architecture and Horticulture graduating seniors.
A cash prize to a graduating student in Horticulture or Landscape Architecture for meritorious service and dedication to the Landscape Arboretum of Temple University Ambler.
Funded by the School of Environmental Design Alumni Association (SEDAA)

BIERHUIZEN FAMILY UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH AWARD IN HORTICULTURE
Given to a student majoring in Horticulture to help defray the cost associated with his or her Senior Research Project, including, but not limited to, the costs of plants, equipment, travel, and shipping.

Amount: $200
Eligibility: Second semester junior Horticulture majors.
Deadline for application: Monday, March 21, 2011.A one-page summary of your Senior Research Project must also be submitted.
Tuition assistance provided to an undergraduate (sophomore) in the Department of Landscape Architecture and Horticulture by the School of Environmental Design Alumni Association for academic achievement during the school year.

Amount: Typical annual scholarship of $1,000.
Eligibility: An undergraduate sophomore in Landscape Architecture or Horticulture.

Eligibility: Horticulture or Landscape Architecture students.

Amount: One or two scholarships usually in the amount of $500 each.
Eligibility: Horticulture and Landscape Architecture majors.
Tuition assistance for a current student enrolled in the School of Environmental Design, majoring in Horticulture, with financial needs and a GPA of 2.5 or above, selected by the Chair of the Department of Landscape Architecture and Horticulture, funded by the Carbon County Bar Association.
Amount: Annual Scholarship of $1,000.

Must have been in the Girl Scouts at least five years (including verification from Girl Scout council or Service unit).
Currently enrolled in the School of Environmental Design at Temple University Ambler and studies horticulture, or landscape architecture

Funded by the School of Environmental Design Alumni Association (SEDAA). Given to a full-time student who is enrolled in the Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, or Landscape Design program at the School of Environmental Design based on financial need, academic achievement, and volunteer service contributing to the well-being of the Ambler gardens and greenhouse. Recipients are not eligible for the Louise and James Bush-Brown Scholarship.

Amount: A $750 scholarship.
Eligibility: Horticulture and Landscape Architecture majors who have completed half of the credit requirement for their major.
An open invitation will be announced annually in the fall semester.
The Student must be a graduating senior in the undergraduate Landscape Architecture Program.
Student should demonstrate a talent for drawing and should produce a number of well crafted hand drawings (plan, section/elevation, axonometric and perspectives.)
In addition to drawing and artistic abilities, student also should demonstrate good citizenship as members of the Landscape Architect Department of the School of Environmental Design of Temple University.
Student should be a current student member of the PA/DE Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects.
Student should have a minimum of 3.2 GPA.
Students must submit 3 – 5 large scale hand drawings for review by the end of January.
Three students will be nominated by the Temple University’s School of Environmental Design faculty.
The Award recipient will be chosen by a panel of landscape architects nominated by the PA/DE Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects and will include at least one Temple University SED department representative on the selection panel of three.
Amount: Annual Scholarship of $500.

Scholarship for Landscape Architecture and Horticulture majors in their junior year, with financial need, who demonstrate strong leadership ability and a commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration.

Amount: Two awards of $1,000 each.
Eligibility: Landscape Architecture and Horticulture majors in their junior year (one from each discipline). The Landscape Architecture student must submit a design project. The Horticulture student must submit an example of their work done during their courses at Ambler.
Tuition assistance for Horticulture and Landscape Architecture majors at Temple University Ambler for a resident of Anne Arundel County, Maryland (preferred), or the State of Maryland, based on financial need.

Eligibility: Residents of Anne Arundel County, Maryland. In lieu of no students from Anne Arundel County, students from the State of Maryland may apply.

PETER G. SCHLOTTERER ECOLOGICAL RESTORATION SCHOLARSHIP
Tuition assistance provided to Horticulture or Landscape Architecture students from the southeastern Pennsylvania or adjacent area, who expect to enter the profession of either environmental preservation or landscape restoration. Based on scholarship and financial need.

Amount: Three annual scholarships of $2,000 each.
Eligibility: Junior or Senior Horticulture or Landscape Architecture major living in southeastern Pennsylvania region.
SOLOMON SCHOLARSHIP FOR ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE IN LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE
Tuition assistance provided to an incoming freshman student with financial need who enrolls in the Department of Landscape Architecture. Preference is given to minority female students.

Amount: Typical annual scholarship of $1,000. Renewable up to four years.
Eligibility: Matriculated or non-matriculated students who are registered for at least six credit hours in the Department of Landscape Architecture.
Tuition assistance for an undergraduate or graduate student majoring in Landscape Architecture and/or Horticulture who demonstrate academic achievement and financial need, selected by the School of Environmental Design faculty.
Amount: Annual Scholarship of $1,000.
