Union
Homes is a 52-unit affordable housing development in Philadelphia’s
Mantua neighborhood. The project is an example of infill redevelopment
in an urban setting, and it also incorporates sustainability through the
use of porous paving for stormwater management. Once completed, the
porous paving will provide 10,000 square feet of onsite stormwater
drainage as well as off-street parking for fifty cars. Using porous
paving will decrease the burden on the existing combined sewer system as
well as enhance the quality of stormwater entering the aquifer. |
