This facility, designed for a private client, houses an indoor bowling
alley and tennis court, and has approximately 3,000 square feet of roof
area. Surrounding the building’s rooftop shuffleboard court, is a green
roof featuring a rainwater harvesting system that collects and filters
20,000 gallons of rooftop runoff. The runoff is diverted to a pump tank
that distributes it for irrigating the estate property, which includes a
golf course. The green roof and rain water harvesting system were
designed by G.R.A.S.S., a sister company of the Onion Flats
collaborative that is revolutionizing eco-friendly green building
development in Philadelphia. The building architect for this project was
Michael Barclay. |
