10,000 Friends of Pennsylvania
The exhibit will feature smart growth projects that revitalize communities and conserve historic, natural, and fiscal resources. The exhibit will promote sound land use and responsible development in Pennsylvania.

Academy of Natural Sciences
Making a welcome return to EarthFest for 2006, the academy will present various marine animal artifacts that visitors will have the opportunity to interact with. The exhibit will also highlight underwater exploration tools. Learn how scientists make amazing discoveries within the ocean depths!

Aqua-Tron by Eco Tech
Aqua-Tron is a water softener that removes lime and calcium from water and existing damaged pipes. Environmentally friendly, it uses no salt or chemicals.

Bartlett Tree Experts
Learn from the experts how Bartlett cares for live trees with an interactive tree demonstration at EarthFest 2006! In business since 1907, Bartlett's focus on tree care has continued through three generations of Bartlett family management.


Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve
The Wildflower Preserve is the premier destination for seeing and learning about the native plants of Pennsylvania and the Delaware Valley Region. Visit the exhibit to play the "pollinator beanbag toss" and learn how native plants and pollinators depend on each other. Information about school tours and other programs will also be available.

Camden Children's Garden
The Camden Children's Garden is a special place for the young and the young at heart to explore and discover the natural world. The 4-acre interactive Garden provides horticultural experiences for creative and imaginative play. At EarthFest, the Garden will be planting sunflower seeds for children to take home with them and an interactive art project entitled "plant with Mum Bear."

Center for Sustainable Communities at Temple University Ambler
Event host the Center for Sustainable Communities will provide an overview of various community projects, including the nearly complete Pennypack Creek Watershed Study, a stormwater management plan for the Fort Washington Office Park, which was developed by students in the Community and Regional Planning master's degree program, and an extensive plan for demonstrate stormwater best management practices at the Pennypack Ecological Restoration Trust. The Center for Sustainable Communities was established to develop and promote new approaches to protect and preserve quality of life through sustainable development, balancing the relationship between environmental integrity, economic prosperity, and social equity. A working resource for government agencies, community organizations, and developers, the Center provides objective information and services to improve decision-making relative to land use and water resources planning in addition to conducting interdisciplinary research and offering educational and community outreach programs. 

CAPHA (Citizen's Alliance for Progressive Health Awareness)
CAPHA will provide information on the problems of genetically modified foods, including a short film, The True Cost of Food. CAPHA is a  non-profit, grass roots organization dedicated to restoring the nation's health by increasing public awareness about natural/holistic health care options and sustainable living. CAPHA will also provide a preview of "The Future of Food" a documentary by Deboarah Koons Garcia that reveals how genetically engineered cops have affected our food supply. The documentary will be the central feature of the "Future of Food Mini Conference," on Saturday,

City Year Greater Philadelphia
Community involvement is the key! City Year unites diver 17 to 24-year-olds for a demanding year of full-time community services, leadership development, and civic engagement. City Year Greater Philadelphia, one of 15 City Year sites across the country, is a non-profit Americorps community service organization that places teams to serve the needs of children and communities in our nation's urban centers. City Year's mission is to put idealism to work by tapping the civic power of young people. The goals of the annual campaign are to generate transformative community service, break down social barriers, inspire citizens to civic action, develop new leaders for the common good, and improve and promote the concepts of voluntary national service.

Clean Air Council
The Clean Air Council will be promoting wind energy in the region, the Philadelphia Diesel Difference diesel emission reduction program, and recycling. Clean Air Council is a member-supported, non-profit environmental organization dedicated to protecting everyone's right to breathe clean air. The Council works through public education, community advocacy, and government oversight to ensure enforcement of environmental laws.

Clean Water Action of PA
Display information on past and current environmental legislation including storm water runoff, pesticide notification act, the bucket brigade and community organizing. Guests will be able to participate in a letter writing campaign to keep laws strong.

Club Veg - Vegetarian Education Group
Club Veg will share information on the environmental impact of food choices. Club Veg's mission is to educate the public, health care professionals, and health organizations about the benefits of a healthy vegetarian lifestyle.

Delaware Canal State Park
Wildlife exhibit, quiz and parks information. The Delaware Canal is the only remaining continuously intact canal of the great towpath canal building era of the early and mid-19th century. The 60-mile-long park, established in 1940, is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna.

Delaware River Basin Commission
Hands-on watershed model, free literature on water quality programs, water conservation programs, historical info on watershed planning, and more. The DRBC is a primary leader in protecting, enhancing, and developing the water resources of the Delaware River Basin. The basin is a source of water supply for approximately 17.5 million people.

Delaware Valley Earth Force
Come learn about Delaware Valley Earth Force and see how your class can take learning into the community to solve local environmental problems. Student projects will be on display, exemplifying the impact young people are making in their neighborhoods. Earth Force engages young people as environmental citizens to improve the environment now and in the future. Come find out how you can help!

Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission
The DVRPC's display will provide brochures and important information on improving air quality in the region. The DVRPC is a contributing sponsor for EarthFest 2006. 

Eastern PA Water Pollution Control Operators Association
The Association will a demonstration of the EnviroScape Landscape Model showing the impact of non-point source pollution and ways to minimize or eliminate it. EPWPCOA is a non-profit association whose members are actively involved in protecting the water environment through their profession. Members are operators and supervisory staff at water and wastewater treatment facilities in Eastern Pennsylvania.

Elmwood Park Zoo
The Elmwood Park Zoo will present a half hour live animal show on the EarthFest Main Stage in addition to presenting interactive "animal biofacts" at their exhibitor booth that help promote the zoo's mission - to foster an appreciation of wildlife and their habitats that will insure active participation in conservation. Elmwood Park Zoo was founded in 1924. In 1985, the Norristown Zoological Society became an official non-profit organization, and assumed control of Elmwood Park Zoo from the Borough of Norristown. Today, Elmwood Park Zoo welcomes over 130,000 visitors annually for an educational adventure in a fun, clean, and family-oriented environment.

The Energy Cooperative
The Energy Cooperative will share information about renewable electricity and energy efficiency. The Cooperative will present solar toys, information and materials focusing on buying renewable electricity, and details about biodiesel and other alternative fuels.

Fiore Motors Inc.
Fiore Motors in Norristown will present a 2006 Mercury Mariner, the latest example of new hybrid vehicle technology.

Franklin Institute
Kaboom! The Franklin Institute's Chemistry Traveling Science Show, a Main Stage Program, explores everything from everyday chemistry to the chemical “detective” work performed by laboratory scientists. Watch as we use chemistry to turn water into gel, make a foam sculpture (in less than a minute), and explode a hydrogen balloon.

Girl Scouts of Southeastern Pennsylvania
The Girl Scouts of Southeastern Pennsylvania will present a variety of simple, quick, hands-on activities that reinforce the EarthFest theme - "Sustaining Our Communities."

Global Exchange - Philadelphia Chapter
Global Exchange (GX) is a membership-based international human rights organization dedicated to promoting social, economic, political, and environmental justice around the world.

Historic Philadelphia, Inc. - Ben & His Traveling Trunk
Philadelphia’s got “BENergy” and now so does EarthFest! As part of the ongoing celebration of Benjamin Franklin’s 300th Birthday, Historic Philadelphia, Inc. will present “Ben & His Traveling Trunk” throughout the day at EarthFest. Ben Franklin and a fellow Colonial character will meet, greet, interact and answer questions from visitors. Ben will also be bringing along a trunkload of goodies, including period costumes — shirts, vests, coats, bifocals, wigs, and tricorner hats — for kids and adults, giving them the opportunity to feel what it was like to literally walk in Ben Franklin’s shoes.

Kallari Rainforest Products of Ecuador
Kallari will present products for sale made from 100 percent sustainably harvested materials. The organization will also share information on the Kallari project, rainforest and natural resource conservation, the preservation on the Kichwa culture, and community development.

Landscape Arboretum of Temple University Ambler Advisory Board
The Advisory Board will present an exhibit highlighting Temple University Ambler's Best of Show Winning 2005 Philadelphia Flower Show exhibit, “Progressive Women in Horticulture: A Driving Force in Philadelphia — 1904 to 1924.” The exhibit highlighted the women who founded the Garden Club of Philadelphia in 1904, followed by the Pennsylvania School of Horticulture for Women in 1910 (the forerunner of Temple University Ambler), the Garden Club of America in 1913, and the Woman’s Farm and Garden Association in 1914. Their founding members would shape the future of public and private horticulture for years to come.

The League of Conservation Voters
The League of Conservation Voters be displaying the scores of the Pennsylvania delegation in Washington from its 2005 National Environmental Scorecard and have stations set up for visitors to write letters to legislators urging them to take a pro-environmental stance. For 35 years, the League of Conservation Voters has worked to promote strong environmental policies, educate voters on those policies and elect environmentally friendly candidates.

March of Dimes WalkAmerica 2006
On Sunday, April 30, the focus will be on families at the 2006 March of Dimes WalkAmerica. At this year’s walk, WalkAmerica Family Teams will be leading the hundreds of walkers in their charge to raise public awareness, reduce the rates of pre-term birth, and increase research to find the cause of prematurity. Premature birth is now the number one obstetric problem in the United States. The Eastern Montgomery County WalkAmerica 2006 will be held at the Temple University Ambler campus. Registration will take place at 9 a.m. with the walk beginning on campus at 10 a.m. This will be the ninth consecutive year Temple University Ambler has served as a March of Dimes WalkAmerica host. Every year, the walk at the Ambler campus is a true celebration, with music, activities and a free picnic. Now is the time to get teams together on campus and at area businesses and community organizations. This is an opportunity for friends and family to do something fun together knowing that they are helping give the tiniest babies a fighting chance — pets are welcome too! Montgomery County Parks and Heritage Services
Montgomery County Parks and Heritage Services will share information on the Montgomery County Trail System. Montgomery County’s long-standing history of trail development began in the late 1970s with the construction of the first phase of the Schuylkill River Trail, a designated National Recreation Trail from Valley Forge National Historical Park to Center City, Philadelphia. Today, the County remains committed to and is aggressively involved in trail planning and development.

The Morris Arboretum
Assisting with the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society's Kids Grow Expo, the Morris Arboretum is an interdisciplinary center that integrates art, science and the humanities. Thousands of rare and lovely woody plants, including many of Philadelphia's oldest, rarest, and largest trees, are set in a romantic, 92-acre, Victorian landscape garden of winding paths, streams, flowers and special garden areas.

National Wildlife Federation - Habitat Ambassors
Natiional Wildlife Federation Ambassadors Bonnie Lee Strunk and Jim Brasted will show visitors how to create backyard wildlife habitats. Strunk will also have her book, "They Call Me Mommy: The Tale of an Eastern Gray Squirrel" available, a story with a "squirrel's eye view" that promotes good stewardship of the Earth and compassion for wildlife.

New Jersey Academy for Aquatic Sciences/Adventure Aquarium
A full three quarters of the Earth is covered with water. Do you know just what goes on beneath those waves? At EarthFest, the New Jersey Academy for Aquatic Sciences will share an important message about conservation and they will do so with a song in their hearts. Part of its “TrOutreach” education programs, the Academy will present an interactive musical entitled “Rock the Boat” on the EarthFest Main Stage at 10 a.m. Rock the Boat engages the audience through a fun, sing-along atmosphere that encourages everyone to get involved! The musical extravaganza highlights conservation, getting to know marine animals, and ocean and beach environments with a goal of generating awareness about conservation issues. During EarthFest, the Academy will also have a hands-on interactive display called Beach Detectives, which challenges people to use their senses to identify what animal biofacts are found on our local beaches, and shares important information on litter and other key marine life and habitat issues.  The Academy is bringing along a few special guests — a live horseshoe crab and several sea stars for visitors to interact with. The Academy will also share information about the fun and exciting events and activities taking place at Adventure Aquarium on the Camden waterfront!

Origami Mommies - Paper Magic
The Origami Mommies, Barbara Pearl and Cathy Janson, will present a hands-on origami demonstration. Learn to recycle a variety of papers into environmentally friendly shapes and figures through the art of Japanese paper folding.

PA Cleanways, Inc.
Pa Cleanways will present an interactive game challenging visitors will match types of litter with the time it takes for each type to decay in the environment. The organization will also share educational literature for children and adults. PA CleanWays is a nonprofit environmental organization in Pennsylvania that fights illegal dumping and littering through community cleanups, education, increased enforcement, and addressing problem disposal items.

Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection
Staff from the Department of Environmental Protection's southeast regional office will be on hand to distribute environmental education information and answer questions from EarthFest participants. The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection is the state agency largely responsible for administering Pennsylvania's environmental laws and regulations. Its responsibilities include: reducing air pollution; making sure our drinking water is safe; protecting water quality in our rivers and streams; making sure waste is handled properly; supporting community renewal and revitalization; promoting advanced energy technology; and helping citizens prevent pollution and comply with the Commonwealth's environmental regulations. DEP is committed to general environmental education and encouraging effective public involvement in setting environmental policy.

Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission
The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) will share information about healthy habitats, providing materials on fishing and boating and ways to keep our aquatic resources healthy. Commission representatives will also talk about and show examples of macroinvertebrates and how they are important for fish. The PFBC's mission is to provide fishing and boating opportunities through the protection and management of aquatic resources.

Pennsylvania Planning Association
The Pennsylvania Planning Association's exhibit will explain planning in Pennsylvania and its relationship to environment and sustainability, including sprawl, open space preservation, and redevelopment. The Pennsylvania Planning Association (PPA) is a chapter of the American Planning Association (APA). PPA is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization for professional planners and planning officials, as well as other organizations and individuals interested in planning. Approximately 1,300 members strong, PPA works to promote planning at all levels of the Commonwealth through workshops, meetings, an annual conference, legislative monitoring, and public awareness efforts. PPA members participate with various groups with shared values and goals.

Pennsylvania Resources Council
The PRC's Litter Bug mascot will be on hand to greet visitors and share important information about preserving Pennsylvania's natural resources! A nonprofit citizens’ action organization founded in 1939, PRC serves as a vital link between industry, government, and grass-roots organizations — initiating dialogue between these groups to seek solutions to environmental problems.

Pennypack Ecological Restoration Trust
The Pennypack Trust’s display will feature an assortment of techniques for restoring forests and ecosystems and will include a variety of native plants grown at the 720-acre reserve by volunteers. The mission of the Trust and its membership is to protect, restore and preserve the lands of the central Pennypack Creek valley so that they remain an enhancement to the quality of visitors' lives, a vibrant and diverse natural landscape supporting native plant and animal life, and become the standard of excellence for innovative restoration and stewardship practices to be shared with other individuals and organizations joined in common commitment to the environment.

Pennypack Farm Education Center
Pennypack Farm will exhibit a "mini-farm" terrarium of root plants. Students will have the opportunity to explore foods that come from specific parts of the plants that will be on display. Pennypack Farm will also share information about how to control weeds without using synthetic chemicals. Pennypack Farm is a charitable, non-profit educational organization dedicated to increasing public understanding of the health, economic, ecological and social issues involved in sustainable local food systems.

Philadelphia Outward Bound Center
Philadelphia Outward Bound will share general information about the organization. Outward Bound uses outdoor activities and the wilderness to teach group and leadership skills, self-discipline, and self-reliance. All courses teach “leave no trace” wilderness techniques.

Philadelphia Water Department (Office of Watersheds)
The Department will share information on natural and urban watersheds, watershed partnerships, and river conservation plans to help us improve our water quality and green our land. The exhibit will also include a watershed model and a macro invertebrate identification exercise titled “Good vs. Bad Bugs” to demonstrate how insects are tools in determining water quality health.

Philadelphia Zoo
Imagine learning about the Philadelphia Zoo from the inside while still in school. Imagine helping to conserve natural animal habitats here and abroad just by giving a few hours of your time. From animal science to business operations, students from throughout the region are learning about the Philadelphia Zoo and its animals in new and innovative ways. Through a wide variety of community service projects, students and adults are also assisting the Zoo achieve its ongoing conservation mission throughout the world. At EarthFest 2006, the Philadelphia Zoo will share information on volunteer opportunities for young people and adults and opportunities to become involved with the Zoo’s conservation efforts at school and in their homes through conservation service projects. America’s first Zoo and one of the region’s foremost conservation organizations, the Philadelphia Zoo is home to more than 1,500 animals, many of which are rare and endangered. The Zoo, fulfilling its mission of conservation, science, education and recreation, supports and engages in conservation efforts to protect endangered species around the world.

The Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education
The Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education (SCEE) will be partnering with students from Green Woods Charter School in Philadelphia to offer an environmental education activity for children.
SCEE will provide information about its native plant sale and spotlight environmental learning projects conducted by Green Woods Charter School students throughout the year.

Sierra Club of Southeastern Pennsylvania
The Sierra Club of Southeastern Pennsylvania will present "Bottled Water: Myths & Facts," stressing the dangers of using plastic water packaging and the negative environmental and economic costs. The Sierra Club will also have "Mount Plast-more" on hand, an 8-feet wide by 8-feet tall sculpture of plastic water bottles.

Sun & Earth, Inc.
Sun and Earth, Inc. will share samples of the company's environmentally friendly, non-toxic cleaning product. Sun & Earth provides consumers with powerful natural cleaning and laundry detergent or laundry products that are gentle on the Earth.

Sunpower Builders
Sunpower Builders will provide information about solar energy efficient and environmentally conscious building design and conservation. Over the course of thirty years, Sunpower Builders has compiled a diverse portfolio of projects, bound by the common threads of fine design, high quality construction and energy efficiency. These projects vary from residential renovations and additions, to historic restorations, to solar homes and solar systems.

Students for Environmental Action (SEA) at Temple University
Students for Environmental Action will provide information about the organization and its campaigns at Temple University. SEA will also exhibit a small hydroponic garden, a windmill, and a solar-powered oven. Students for Environmental Action is an environmental group that was founded in the fall 2003 by students at Temple University interested in exploring and taking action on environmental issues.

Take a Walk Books - Jane Kirkland
Jane Kirkland, award-winning author, photographer, columnist, and nature lover will present her program "I Saw A Bald Eagle Soaring Over My Grocery Store" on the EarthFest Main Stage at noon. Her enthralling and captivating stories of how she accidentally discovered nature in unusual and expected places such as her backyard, neighborhood, and even her grocery store parking lot are entertaining, educational, and captivating. You won't want to miss this opportunity to learn Jane's secrets to "bird whispering" and "animal magnetism." Jane has presented this program to students, adults, and families all over the United States. In the past year Take A Walk® Books, Jane's series of award-winning nature discovery books have won two educational awards and three book awards, including a Teacher's Choice Award. Her books will be available at EarthFest and this is your opportunity to purchased a signed copy. Jane will also have free nature bookmarks for all students who stop by her booth during EarthFest. Every month, Jane is a guest on WXPN's Kids Corner radio program and her column Eye on Nature appears in MetroKids PA, NJ and DE. In March Jane was a featured guest Animal Planet's Backyard Habitat. At Earthfest 2006, she'll have information about her newest book for educators, Creating a Field Guide to Your School, as well as her upcoming FREE e-book,
Take A Cloud Walk.

During EarthFest, Jane will also lead bird walks of the campus at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. The walks are catered toward kids ages 8 and up (younger if accompanied by an adult). Bring binoculars if you have them!   

Temple University Ambler Bookstore  
The Temple University Ambler Bookstore will have a variety of books related to the environment, the natural world, smart growth, and sustainable concepts at EarthFest 2006.

Temple University Ambler Computer Recycling Center
Temple will provide information on its Computer Recycling Program, which involves recycling computer parts to promote a healthier environment.

Temple University Ambler Department of Community and Regional Planning - "GIS Mapping Central"
Explore this Geographic Information Systems demonstration featuring maps and graphics from projects conducted by the Department of Community and Regional Planning and the Center for Sustainable Communities at Temple University Ambler.

Temple University Ambler Department of Landscape Architecture and Horticulture
Students from Temple University Ambler's Department of Landscape Architecture and Horticulture will present a display highlighting the department's award-winning 2006 Philadelphia Flower Show exhibit, "Nature Nurtures: Mind, Body, Spirit." The exhibit, which won an Award of Merit from the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society,
emphasized the healing potential for gardens of any size, educated visitors about how to make healing gardens of their own, and explored the medicinal use of plants over the course of human history, from the Ancient World through the Renaissance to the present day.

Temple University Ambler Summer Education Camps
Learn about the many educational camp experiences that Temple University Ambler has to offer during the summer months! Temple University is proud to offer Summer Education Camps for the 17th consecutive year. Camps are available for children ages 8 to 17. From ecology to the amazing world of reptiles, from web site design to digital photography, there is something for every child at Temple University Ambler this summer!

Temple University Athletics
Temple Athletics promotes a healthy lifestyle for children by encouraging participation in sports and other outdoor activities through the Owlsports summer camps and Hooter’s Junior Owl Kids Club. Temple University mascots Hooter and Baby Owl will also promote healthy lifestyles with visitors to EarthFest 2006!

Temple University Dining Services/Sodexho
A variety of food and beverages will be available for sale at EarthFest courtesy of Temple University Dining Services.  

Temple University Recycling Department
Learn about recycling and take home valuable information about how you can recycle at home!

Temple Health Empowerment Office (THEO)
The Temple Health Empowerment Office (THEO) will educate visitors about organic foods and the health risks associated with foods treated with hormones and pesticides. THEO provides programs and workshops on a variety of topics for students at Temple University and beyond. THEO's programs arte interactive, fun, and designed to empower and motivate participants to think about issues related to health and wellness.

Temple University Ambler Student Organizations
The student organizations of Temple University Ambler have joined together to provide fun, educational programs for students of all ages:

  • Alpha Chi Rho — The Phi Kappa Chi Chapter of Alpha Chi Rho will lead EarthFest visitors in an environmental art project, promoting recycling and environmental awareness through drawings - using paper recycled from the campus computer lab - that they will be able to take home.

  • Gamma Sigma Sigma Sorority — The sisters of the Gamma Sigma Sigma sorority will teach students how to place plants in planters, which the students will decorate. The hand decorated planters will be donated to an area assisted living home. 

  • Landscape Architecture and Horticulture Student Association/
    Pi Alpha Xi
    — The Landscape Architecture and Horticulture Student Association and the Ambler campus chapter of Pi Alpha Xi, the national honor society for students of Floriculture, Landscape, and Ornamental Horticulture,
    will provide a hands-on lesson in horticulture as they help our student visitors pot a plant of their own to take home in personalized containers.

  • Pi Phi Sorority/Criminal Justice Society — Take a little piece of nature home with you. The Pi Phi social/service sorority and the Criminal Justice Society student organization will show students how to make decorative leaf rubbings in addition to helping create colorful pet rocks. Name them yourself and put them on display!

  • Sigma Chi Delta Sorority — The sorority will lead students in an environmental craft project, creating pinecone birdfeeders with the help of peanut butter.

  • Society for Exceptional Educators  — The Society for Exceptional Educators will provide young visitors with a wide variety of opportunities to learn how they can become good environmental citizens. Organizations members will lead participants in several craft projects, including art made from recycled objects, flower planting, and "Earth Day grocery bags." Students will have the opportunity to decorate grocery bags with positive Earth Day-themed messages. The bags will in turn be given out to grocery store customers in the region to spread the students' positive environmental messages throughout the community.

  • Temple University Ambler Program Board — Student members of the campus Program Board will show students how they can create dazzling artwork with natural items such as leaves, flowers, plants, and vegetables.

  • Temple University Ambler Student Government Association/Temple Column — Open the gateway to sustainability with the Student Government Association and the Temple Column student newspaper's "Recycling Center," a series of interactive games to teach children that recycling is not just important, it can be fun too!

Upper Dublin Environmental Protection Advisory Board (EPAB)
The Upper Dublin EPAB will present water resource pamphlets created by Upper Dublin High school students in addition to demonstrating proper disposal of hazardous materials and distributing samples of township leaf compost.

U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge at Tinicum
Through games and demonstrations, EarthFest participants will become a migrating bird and travel through different countries. Will you be successful enough to have a nest full of young? Visitors will also learn about backyard habitats. Since its establishment in 1972, the Refuge has worked with local students and teachers in the surrounding school districts to provide environmental education. Its programs focus on providing teachers the information and skills they need to use the Refuge as their outdoor classroom. Over 6,000 students participate in field trips at the Refuge each year. Whether it's a pond study, tree identification, or poetry, the Refuge's surroundings provide a perfect setting to discover and learn about the outdoors.

U.S. Representative Allyson Y. Schwartz
Representatives from U.S. Rep. Allyson Y. Schwartz's office will provide handouts and literature regarding environmental health.

Wissahickon Restoration Volunteers
The Wissahickon Restoration Volunteers (WRV) will highlight the role of community volunteers in the ongoing ecological restoration projects undertaken by the organization. Information will also be available about the importance of controlling soil erosion and invasive species as part of WRV's ecosystem management approach.

Yoga Living Magazine and YogaLife Institute
Yoga Living Magazine and the Yoga Life Institute will educate EarthFest visitors about "green living."
Yoga Living was formed out of a commitment to make the Philadelphia Area a leader in the holistic fields. The YogaLife Institute offers programs for the average family member "whose Yoga practice has the potential to reach profound awareness amidst an outwardly ordinary life.

Area Schools Exhibiting:

Durham-Nockamixon Elementary School
Fifth graders, members of the Durham-Nockamixon Elementary School's environmental club, will demonstrate how water runoff is collected in wetlands and share information on the importance of wetland protection.

George Washington Carver High School of Engineering and Science
The student organization Club Earth will share an interactive display about alternative energy sources and energy conservation and share information about how everyone can help sustain our communities.

Green Woods Charter School
Students from Green Woods Charter School, in partnership with the Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education (SCEE) will offer an environmental education activity for children and spotlight environmental learning projects conducted by Green Woods Charter School students throughout the year.

Mitchell Program - St. Gabriel's Hall
Students from the Mitchell program will provide a details "how to" on composting - what it is, how to create it yourself, and why and how to use it in your own backyard.

Owen J. Roberts Middle School
Student participants in Owen J. Robert Middle School's Streamwatch, a two-year, multi-age, fully integrated curriculum based on an in-depth study of the environment, will share information about their environmental activities. True to its name, our Streamwatch students conduct monthly stream studies and participate in various community projects which help to protect the local watershed.  Owen J. Roberts' sixth and seventh graders are eager to share their activities, ventures, and knowledge with all Earthfest 2006 attendees!

Potter-Thomas Elementary School
Students from Potter-Thomas Elementary School will present an exhibit on the water cycle, including a water cycle model, terrariums, and a "Water Cycle Song." 

Sulzberger Middle School
Learn the ins and outs of recycling from informative displays created by Sulzberger Middle School sixth, seventh, and eighth graders!

Upper Darby High School
Upper Darby High School's creative exhibit will provide an entryway for the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society's Kids Grow Expo. It is being designed, developed, and constructed entirely by students in Upper Darby's horticulture and agricultural science class.

Upper Dublin High School 
Upper Dublin High School students present a project on "ecological footprints." The exhibit will include two three-fold posters providing interested participants with basic knowledge on the topic. The students will also lead visitors through a short quiz that will provide participants with an overview of their ecological footprint. Additional information will show how visitors can improve their ecological footprints and ways they can apply environmental awareness in to their everyday lives. Participants will be able to take home a brochure with basic information on ecological footprints as well.

William H. Ziegler Elementary School
Sixth grade students will present an exhibit highlighting environmental protection and environmental awareness.

Wordsworth Fort Washington - Interact Club
The Wordsworth Interact Club performs various community service projects, such as planting trees in the Wissahickon Valley Watershed and promoting recycling drives.
