Temple University
Dr. Adam's expertise is in urban public policy,
specializing in urban economic development and land use planning. A
Temple University faculty member since 1976, Dr. Adams has held a number
of leadership positions including department chair, president of the
university faculty senate, and dean of the College of Liberal Arts, a
position she held for seven years. Dr. Adams teaches Economic
Development for Cities; Land Use Planning; World Urban Patterns; and
Problems of American Cities. Dr. Adams is currently studying the impact
of state policies on land management in townships. She has written five
books and numerous articles on urban public policy. Her books include,
The Politics of Capital Investment and Philadelphia: Neighborhoods,
Division, and Conflict in a Post-Industrial City, co-authored with
several of her colleagues in the Department of Geography and Urban
Studies. She received a Distinguished Teaching Award from the College of
Liberal Arts in 1986. Dr. Adams is an associated faculty member of the
Center for Sustainable Communities at Temple University Ambler. She has
served as a member of the Board of Directors of the William Penn
Foundation, a board member of the National Urban Affairs Association,
past president of the Council of Colleges of Arts and Sciences, and now
sits on the Board of Trustees of Moore College of Art and Design. |
