Dr. Flamm joined the
Ambler College faculty in
Fall 2007 as an Assistant
Professor.
He earned a B.A. in Political Science at the University of California, Berkeley, in 1984, and a Master’s in Regional Planning from Cornell University in 1992.
In 2006, Dr. Flamm completed a Ph.D. in City and Regional Planning at the University of California, Berkeley where his research focused on the environmental and energy impacts of transportation systems. He served most recently as a Visiting Scholar at the University of California Transportation Center (UCTC) researching probable land use impacts of a high speed rail system linking Northern and Southern California.
Dr. Flamm has recently published articles in the Journal of Transport History and the Berkeley Planning Journal, and has written policy briefs, online reports, and conference papers and proceedings.
Active in his profession, Dr. Flamm has served as a board member on various committees, including the City of Cleveland Heights, Ohio’s Visioning Committee, the Friends of Cameroon in the United States, and Alt-Trans Cleveland.
In addition to his academic accomplishments, he has worked on long-term projects for the United States Agency for International Development, the United Nations’ World Food Program, and EcoCity Cleveland. He is professionally affiliated with the Transportation Research Board, the American Planning Association, and the Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning.
