Extern Program
The Extern program offers students an opportunity to explore career ambitions and alternatives in a professional setting. An externship is similar to an internship; however, the program only lasts for two weeks.  It is usually offered during the winter break and students are able to earn either 2 or 3 credits for successful completion of their work experience and academic assignments. Students are required to complete eight full work days at an employer site and also attend two full-day career-related seminars. Click here for more information on the extern program.
Internships
An internship is an academically-sponsored career-related work experience that may also provide students with an opportunity to earn academic credits. Requirements regarding credits and assignments are dictated by department. Internships typically last one or two academic semesters.  Students obtain their own internship with the help of resources such as career development and their academic department.  Click here to learn more about internships.
Career Library
Instructional pamphlets, employer literature, graduate school catalogues and materials on job seeking are available in our Career Library (West Hall Room 110). If you cannot find the type of resource you are looking for let us know. We are constantly updating the library.
Career Fairs
Career Fairs are on-campus networking opportunities designed to bring students and employers together. This is a valuable opportunity if you are looking for a job or researching companies for career opportunities. Employers offer internships and part-time and full-time job opportunities. The career fair usually takes place during the Spring semester. Visit here for information about Career Fairs in our area.
Job Leads
The Ambler Career Development Office receives numerous job leads (degree and non-degree) from employers interested in hiring Temple students and graduates.
