Landscape Arboretum

Arboretum Volunteer Programs

Keep our beautiful Landscape Arboretum magnificent through your volunteer service — at any level!

  • Opportunities to learn and grow as a gardener.
  • Camaraderie with like-minded garden lovers.
  • Learn about forcing and growing plants.
  • Free monthly seminars or workshops at the Ambler campus on topics of interest.
  • 10 percent off at Temple Ambler’s Annual Plant Sale.
  • Learn or enhance skills in weeding, pruning, mulching, planting, potting, and greenhouse maintenance.
  • We will tailor your volunteer experience to fit your individual skills, availability, and interests.
  • Put your energy and knowledge to good use and learn “on the job.”

We hold volunteer days every Wednesday morning starting at 9 a.m. We meet and sign in at the greenhouse, collect tools and head out normally with Staff Horticulturist Rudy Keller. If you are free any time on a Wednesday, just turn up. Remember your gloves and kneeler if you have them and any favorite tools like pruners. A water bottle and sunscreen are useful, as is a floppy hat.  There is a cooler to refill your bottle in the greenhouse.
