An Ambler Campus Snapshot

Temple University Ambler and the Woman's National Farm and Garden Association has a long history together that dates back nearly 100 years. It was at Ambler, then the Pennsylvania School of Horticulture for Women, that the Association was formally established in 1914. Temple University Ambler and the Ambler Arboretum honored the Woman's National Farm and Garden Association at the 7th Annual Rhapsody in Bloom.

Welcome Alumni!

Temple University Ambler has an active, diverse community
of alumni and friends. As a member of that community, we encourage you to take part in Ambler events, to keep us informed of where you are, what you are doing, and how we can best serve your interests.

Our Mission

The mission of the Office of Development and Alumni
Affairs is to create an always-open bridge between the campus and our alumni and friends.

Over 1,500 of our alums are graduates from the School of Environmental Design [formerly Ambler College] (the home of horticulture, landscape architecture, and planning degree programs).

More than 12,000 campus alums are graduates from other Temple degree programs who have taken 50% or more of their courses at the Ambler campus.

Whether you are an SED or Ambler Campus alum, this is
your online resource for news, alumni updates, and campus events.

Coming up at Ambler

Sustainability Action Day

Wednesday, March 27, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Temple University Ambler Campus Greenhouse, 580 Meetinghouse Road

Join Horticulture students and staff at Temple University Ambler and help remove invasive species and plant native shrubs in the Woodland Garden. This garden is an integral part of our campus — it was originally planted by the students of the Pennsylvania School of Horticulture for Women during the 1920s. Students and staff have begun the long process of removing the English Ivy that has spread throughout the Garden. By re-planting with native species, it will be harder for English Ivy to return. The new plantings will also give the Woodland Garden more biodiversity and will increase the teaching collection. All skill levels are welcome to participate! It will be a great opportunity to learn more about plants and meet people. Participants will meet at the Ambler Campus Greenhouse. Be sure to wear protective shoes and dress for the weather. Limited supplies of work gloves and tools will be available, and snacks and drinks will be served by Pi Alpha Xi, the National Honor Society for Horticulture. Information: 267-468-8168 or eisenman@temple.edu.
