I used to attend Temple University but have not taken classes in a while. How do I register for classes to complete my degree?
If you have not attended in two semesters, your records are now inactive. Complete and return an application for readmission. You can pick up a readmit form in West Hall Room 112 or download the application online (in pdf format). If you have not enrolled at Temple in five years, some limits may be placed on upper level business credits earned previously and you may be required to meet current program requirements. Once readmitted, you will meet an advisor and register for classes.
How do I change my major?
If you are a student in the Fox School and want to change your major to another area within business, notify your advisor. If you are a student in the Fox School and want to change you major to an area outside of business, make an appointment with an advisor in your intended major to review program requirements and complete an Intra-University Transfer Form.
What if I've lost or forgotten my pin number?
No one has access to your PIN number. If you've lost it, a new one must be issued. It can be issued in one of two ways: contact our office to re-set your PIN, a new one will be mailed to you within a week. OR, stop by either our office in West Hall Room 112 or Academic Services (Link to Student Services section of Academic Services) in West Hall Room 102 and choose a new PIN number. This option must be done in person and a photo I.D. is required.
What do I have to do if I plan to take more than the maximum number of credits allowed in a semester?
Students are permitted to take 18 credits in the Fall/Spring semesters or 8 credits in either summer session. If you would like to take more than this, you will be required to complete an overload petition (in pdf format). This form can be obtained in West Hall Room 112 or click here. Please note: a cumulative GPA of 3.0 is normally required for approval.
What to I need to do in order to take classes at another institution?
To receive credit for courses taken at another institution during the regular academic year or summer sessions, you must be a matriculated student in good academic standing. Obtain a permission form during the semester prior to taking the course(s) elsewhere from West Hall Room 112 or download the application online (in pdf format). Complete the form and return to West Hall Room 112 with a course catalog including course descriptions. Approval is limited to students taking the course outside of commuting distance to Temple.
Permission is rescinded if your GPA falls below 2.0, or you are placed on academic warning or probation. As with all courses accepted in transfer, only grades of C- or higher are acceptable; an official transcript from the institution to be attended must be forwarded to the advising office before the beginning of the following semester.
