Ambler Campus Technology (ACT) Center

The Ambler Campus Technology (ACT) Center is equipped with 80 PCs and 10 iMacs equipped with software for all Temple programs, color and black and white laser printing, two plotters, scanner applications, video editing equipment, and a wireless lounge area.
A help desk area is located within the ACT Center.


ACT Center Hours  (Fall and Spring Semesters):
Monday through Thursday: 8:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Friday:  8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunday: Noon to 8 p.m.


ACT Center Hours (Summer Semesters):
Monday through Thursday: 8:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Friday:  8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunday: Closed
The lab is closed on weekends during holidays and semester intersessions.

Computer Center/CAD Lab
Library Building Room 25
Room 25 is available for computer instruction and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) courses. This computer center is an upgraded 28-seat PC facility predominantly used by the School of Environmental Design. The classroom is equipped with 28 PCs, large digital flat screen monitors, printers, plotters, peripherals, MS Windows and Office software, and specialized applications for computer-aided design and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

Smart classrooms are available to faculty and instructors requiring multimedia, computer-based video, and audio instructional equipment. Please note: All computer classrooms in the Learning Center include multimedia smart technology.

Four PC classrooms are currently available at Temple University Fort Washington for classroom instruction. There are a total of 101 PCs with flat screen monitors. Inkjet and laser printing is available.

Wireless Technology
The Ambler campus provides a wireless infrastructure in the following buildings: Bright Hall, Dixon, Library, and Widener Hall. The entire Learning Center supports wireless technology. The wireless infrastructure will be expanding to additional locations on campus.

The Fort Washington campus facilitates a wireless infrastructure in all rooms and open areas of 401 Commerce Drive. Students and faculty have the capacity to use laptops supporting wireless technology throughout the building.

Landscape Architecture and Horticulture Department Computer Lab
Dixon Hall, Room 108
This lab/classroom is available 24 hours a day to all students, faculty, and staff of the Department of Landscape Architecture and Horticulture. The lab is equipped with 25 PC workstations. The lab also includes two HP DesignJet color plotters, one Epson Stylus inkjet printer, one HP LaserJet printer, two HP ScanJet flatbed scanners, and two slide scanners. Notable software in the lab includes Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, AutoCAD, ESRI ArcView GIS, MS Office, and QuarkXpress.

Landscape Architecture and Horticulture Digital Design Studio
Dixon Hall, Room 208
This design studio was developed specifically for students in Landscape Architecture and Horticulture. The studio includes 20 PCs, mounted and portable video projectors, a large format scanner and plotter, color laserprinter, and a wide array of applications software, including AutoCAD, ArcView GIS, Adobe Photoshop, Indesign, and Adobe PageMaker.
