CRP Scholarships

Community and Regional Planning

ARTHUR F. LOEBEN SCHOLARSHIP - GRADUATE

  • The Arthur F. Loeben Scholarship provides tuition support for newly matriculated graduate students in Community and Regional Planning. It is not available for those who hold research or teaching assistantships.
  • Recipients of this scholarship will be known as Loeben Scholars.
  • Loeben Scholars will be selected by Community and Regional Planning faculty on the basis of strong academic credentials, evidence of potential as a professional and commitment to planning in the public interest. Preference is given to minority applicants.
  • The review process is based on program application materials.
  • Awards will range in size from $1,000 to $3,000. The Community and Regional Planning Department reserves the right to decide the number of scholarships and the size of the awards.

ARTHUR F. LOEBEN SCHOLARSHIP - UNDERGRADUATE

  • Recipients of the scholarship will be selected by the chair of the Department of Community and Regional Planning on the basis of academic performance, extra-curricular activities, and interest in the field of planning.
  • The scholarship provides support for a junior or senior majoring in Community and Regional Planning. Interested applicants must submit a one-page essay describing the contributions they want to make as a professional planner. Recipients must have a minimum grade point average of 3 .0 or higher.

  • Amount: Renewable $1,000 scholarship.
  • Deadline for application: Friday, March 15, 2013.

TOWARD SUSTAINABILITY SCHOLARSHIP

  • This scholarship provides support for a sophomore or junior majoring in Community and Regional Planning who has demonstrated a commitment to community service. Recipients must have a minimum grade point average of 2.75 or higher.
  • Questions regarding this scholarship should be directed to Deborah Howe at 267-468-8301.
  • Amount: $1,000 award, not renewable.
  • Deadline for application: Friday, March 15, 2013.
