"The Green Campus"

Temple University Ambler is often referred to as the University’s green campus and with good reason.

Home to the School of Environmental Design in the College of Liberal Arts, the campus is a living laboratory of sustainable initiatives for students, faculty, and researchers. Ambler is also host to one of the largest annual celebrations of Earth Day in the region — EarthFest.

The campus purchases 200,000-kilowatt hours of wind energy per year, the Landscape Arboretum includes a working example of green roof technology and an award-winning sustainable wetland garden, the Center for Sustainable Communities devotes its research to improving communities for today and tomorrow, and the Ambler Campus Sustainability Council strives to ensure that Ambler remains "green."

A respected innovator in research and education in social, economic, and environmental studies, the Ambler and Fort Washington campuses deliver high-quality undergraduate, graduate, certificate, and non-credit programs that meet the needs of the region and provide a rewarding life experience for students of all ages.

Sustainability, environmental education, and sustainable initiatives filter throughout the curriculum offered at Ambler and Fort Washington. Come see for yourself!
