The College is ranked 15th among major colleges of education in the
nation by U.S.
News and World Report in its 2003 rankings.
Below you will find some examples of how your gift to the College of
Education Annual Fund will be put to use. Your annual gift, whatever
the size, helps the College meet critical needs and seize exciting opportunities.
Your gift supports:
- Scholarship aid for outstanding students demonstrating financial
need
- Top-notch teachers who not only serve as executive officers
for national research organizations and have published numerous books
and articles in their areas of expertise, but are also talented educators
and classroom leaders
- Teaching and research centers including a laboratory in which
teaching is videotaped for critique; the Educational Computing Center,
equipped with current educational software; and a high-tech "smart
classroom"
- Outstanding programs which include the highly praised graduate
and undergraduate athletic training programs, accredited by the National
Athletic Trainers' Association and Commission on the Accreditation
of Allied Health Educational Programs, and the School Psychology and
Counseling Psychology programs, approved by the American Psychological
Association, a designation given only to a small number of programs
nationwide
- School to community partnerships with the School District
of Philadelphia which includes 13 Professional Development Schools,
two Literacy Centers and a close relationship with the William Penn
Cluster of schools
