Upon graduation, through a one time student graduation fee, all
alumni are automatically granted Life Membership in the Temple University
Alumni
Association (TUAA). |
 |
| |
| Founded in 1927 and incorporated in 1997,
the TUAA represents
all alumni of Temple University and is the umbrella organization
for the school/college alumni associations, the Young Alumni Association,
and all other constituent alumni groups. The TUAA Board is comprised
of three representatives from each school/college alumni association,
directors-at-large, national directors, past presidents and life
members. |
| |
| The TUAA's participation in University
governance is
evidenced through alumni representation on important University and
Trustee committees and through its president who serves ex-officio
with full voting privileges on the University's Board of Trustees
for the length of his/her term of office. In the past ten years,
the Board of Directors of the TUAA has contributed $2,258,980, on
behalf of its 230,000 living alumni, to Temple University supporting
projects and programs ranging from The Liacouras Center, and its
interactive electronic kiosks, to the Medical School library; and
from book grants to the publications of the History of the School
of Pharmacy. |
| |
| The Alumni Center houses the administrative
offices
of the TUAA and the University's Office of Alumni Relations. The
Alumni
Center staff coordinates reunions, Founder's Dinner and a variety
of other events, programs and services outlined throughout the Alumni & Friends
pages. |
| |
| Located on the West Balcony of Mitten
Hall on the Main
Campus, the Alumni Center was recently renovated and furnished by
the TUAA. Built in 1931, Mitten Hall is fondly remembered by generations
of former students for its Great Court, auditorium/theater and popular
ground floor grill. The Alumni Center is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30
p.m., Monday through Friday and includes a conference/dining room
and kitchen. |
