| On behalf of my colleagues, let me join the chorus of those celebrating the new Department of Advertising in the School of Communications and Theater at Temple University. On July 1, 2004, our department was officially launched, and we began a new mission in Temple’s academic and professional life, and we are honored to be a part of what unfolds.
Our academic goals are to help expand your minds, to contribute to a learning environment where you experience new ideas and to guide you in developing skills to write and think clearly.
With this in mind, many if not most of our courses are hands-on, where you learn by doing. In our approach to teaching we are guided by this useful adage: Tell me and I’ll listen; show me and I’ll understand; involve me and I’ll learn.
