1. Call to Order:
The meeting was called to order at 1:48 PM.
2. Approval of Minutes:
Minutes from December 15 were approved.
3. President’s Report:
The President of the Faculty Senate reported on the state of the formation of the Presidential search committee and invited input from any faculty member to her or to any member of the search committee. She invited faculty to attend the March 14 meeting of the Board of Trustees. It was mentioned that on potential item of business for this meeting was Board action on President Adamany’s proposed changes to the document The Structure of the Graduate School.
4. Vice-President’s Report:
The Vice-President of the Faculty Senate reminded us of the importance of responding to the joint FS/TAUP faculty morale survey. She also announced the formation of a new committee to re-evaluate the content and use of the CATE forms.
5. Old Business:
None.
6. New Business:
A motion was made that the March meeting of the Representative Faculty Senate be made instead of a meeting of the entire Faculty Senate with the single agenda item of discussing and preparing a response to President Adamany’s proposed changes to The Structure of the Graduate School. It was pointed out that the scheduled meeting of the Senate was scheduled after Dr. Adamany’s deadline for receiving feedback on his proposal. An amendment was proposed that a meeting of the full Senate be held prior to this deadline. Following discussion, the amendment was passed, as was the amended motion. The meeting will be scheduled subject to the availability of the meeting room.
7. Adjournment:
The meeting adjourned at 2:30 PM.
