The meeting convened at 2pm.
1. Minutes of February 9 were accepted.
2. There was a report from the Community Based Learning sub Group (CBL). It was followed by a lengthy discussion. Among issues discussed were: generation of a section # & course #, Location of courses, Classroom time & commitment. The different categories of Sections (Experimental, Integrative, and Collaborative) were discussed. Robert Aiken pointed out that the guidelines for CBL should not be too restrictive. It has been concluded that the next step should be submitting the CBL guidelines to the Provost for approval
3. The next topic to be discussed was Bruce Conrad's request to limit the number of course repeats to three. A discussion followed and it was concluded that prior to making any decision data should be obtained regarding the number of students that fail to pass a course in 3 attempts, and what is the policy undertaken by other academic institutes regarding this issue.
4. Finally, Michele O'Connor distributed printed materials aimed at better understanding Advanced Placement and International Diploma credit issues that will be discussed in the next meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 3:30 pm by Dan Liebermann
