The committee has given extensive input and advice at an
important time for the library. At regular meetings, the
committee has discussed the following issues:
1. Short and long term planning for the library's physical
plant. There are plans for immediate small-scale renovations,
and architectural consultants have developed plans for an
eventual major overhaul of Paley.
2. Scholarly Communication Task Force: the library wants to
encourage a campus-wide discussion about the future of
scholarly communication in the digital age, addressing
questions such as digital publication and open access.
3. Development initiatives: the library is experiencing
success in fund raising and collection development. More high profile events such as the recent Juan Williams lecture are planned.
