Faculty Senate Library Committee Spring 2008
The Faculty Senate Library Committee had a series of lively,monthly meetings during the spring 2008 semester. There is ageneral consensus among committee members that the library is the intellectual heart of the university, and all are happy to support the dean of libraries and library staff.
Larry Alford, dean of libraries, consulted with the committee on a number of issues, including:
- collection development
- library outreach and development
- revised circulation policy
- major overhaul of the Paley library’s physical plant
- university-wide scholarly communications initiative
Future issues for the committee include:
- planning for the digital future
- renovating / overhauling Paley
