Committee on Administrative and Trustee Appointments (CATA)

Fall 2007

The Committee on Administrative and Trustee Appointments (CATA) was charged with several tasks for the Fall 2007 semester:

(1) recommendation of faculty members to serve on the Academic Planning Committees in addition to those faculty already recommended by their schools and colleges, (2) recommendation of faculty members to serve on the search committee for the Dean of the Law School from outside that School, (3) recommendation of faculty members to serve on the search committee for the Dean of Temple University, Japan campus,

(4) recommendation of faculty members to serve on the search committee for the Vice President for International Programs, and

(5) recommendation of faculty members to serve on the search committee for the Dean of the School of Dentistry from outside that School.  Faculty candidates were chosen by CATA members for all of these committees and their names were forwarded to Faculty Senate President Robert Aiken, Provost Lisa Staiano-Coico and the Chief of Staff in the Provost’s Office, Stephanie Gillin.

CATA members also met with Provost Lisa Staiano-Coico and her Chief of Staff, Stephanie Gillin, in order to explore ways of communicating between the Provost’s Office and CATA that would most effectively lead to CATA recommending appropriate faculty members to serve on administrative and trustee search committees.
