At the beginning of the semester, members of the Library Committee met with the candidates for the position of Associate University Librarian for Research and Instruction. At our Library Committee meeting in November, the representatives from the Library discussed the operational status of the Depository, a storage facility for lesser used library materials housed in the Kardon building. If someone requests an item which is currently stored in the Depository, the turnaround time for retrieval is approximately 24 hours, as the Library representatives had hoped for. The Library representatives also spoke about the Undergraduate Prize in Library Research, which has had a terrific response in the past, with many outstanding student papers and projects submitted. The faculty members on the Library Committee learned more details about the Prize, which can then be shared with their students.
