Frequently Asked Questions by International Students Scholarship Information- Undergraduate Students

Any specific questions you have regarding the admissions application process or the contents of this page should directed to the office of Undergraduate Admissions. Their e-mail address is tuadmint@temple.edu

Q: Do you offer scholarships to international students?

A: Yes. There are three levels of scholarships: US$2,500 and US$5,000 per year.  These scholarships are available only to interrnational freshmen (first-year) students beginning an academic program in a Fall semester.  There are currently no financial awards available to internationaltransfer students.

Q: What are the requirements for getting a scholarship? Do I need to fill out a scholarship application?

A: No, you do not need to fill out a separate application. After you are admitted and if you meet  the minimum requirements, the Scholarship Committee will review your application. To qualify, freshmen should have a minimum of 3.2 GPA, 550 TOEFL or 1100 SAT scores.

However, please remember that there is no guarantee that every student who meets the minimum requirements will receive a scholarship. It is a very competitive award, and the number available is limited.

Q:  When and how do I know if I have received a scholarship?

A:   If you receive a scholarship, it will be stated in your acceptance letter.

Q:   If I receive a scholarship, is it only for the first year or for the other years too?

A:   All scholarships are renewable for up to four years of study at Temple, as long as students  maintain GPA average of 3.0 (letter grade B) and maintain full-time enrollment (12+ credits per semester).
