Programs and Activities Within the FGIS Department
The FGIS Department provides programs leading to an undergraduate major, minor, or certificate of language proficiency in French, German, Italian, and Russian. Programs are designed to provide comprehensive functional language skills, special preparation for the business and professional arenas, and a comprehensive understanding of literature and culture as a preparation for graduate studies. Students may also choose to complete a double major by combining one of the language programs with any of 100 other majors at Temple University, including business, management, communications, journalism, music, health professions, fine arts, social sciences, or engineering and science.
Study Abroad and International Perspectives
Students are encouraged to study abroad in Paris, Leipzig, the Universities of Hamburg and Tubingen in Germany, the Temple University campus in Rome, or on study abroad programs in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Vladimir or other Russian cities. Through the Office of International Programs students may also choose to enroll in study abroad programs sponsored by other universities or colleges.
