Alumni Showcase

Here in our Alumni Showcase we honor our graduates who have built upon the strong foundation of their liberal arts degrees to become leaders in their chosen professions. Some cultivated successful careers as a result of an undergraduate internship. Some used their liberal arts degrees as stepping-stones into graduate or professional schools. Others knew the minute they declared their major just what career path was right for them. Yet others admit to not having particular plans after graduation, but somehow life's circumstances led them into satisfying careers. It's probably safe to say that no two of their paths are exactly the same. It is absolutely safe to say that their liberal arts degrees set them on a course for success.

Kylie Patterson, nominee for Temple student body president, wins Truman Scholarship

In March, Kylie Patterson, a junior and double major in African American studies and political science, joined the list of Temple scholars selected to receive the $30,000 award, which will help support her graduate studies.

Rooted in President Harry S. Truman's belief that education promotes the general welfare of the country, the Truman scholarship is awarded to college juniors with exceptional leadership potential who are committed to careers in government, the nonprofit or advocacy sectors, education and public service.
