Publications

Stephan C. Aronoff, professor and chair of the Department of Pediatrics at the School of Medicine, published “The Utility of Serum C-Reactive Protein in Differentiating Bacterial from Nonbacterial Pneumonia in Children” in The Pediatric Infectious Disease Journal, in February.

William R. Dubin, professor of psychiatry and behavioral science at the School of Medicine, co-authored “Olfactory Reference Syndrome: A Case Report” in the Jan. /Feb. issue of Psychosomatics.

Harsh Grewal, professor of surgery and pediatrics at the School of Medicine, co-authored “Effective instruction of vascular anastomosis in the surgical skills laboratory” for the American Journal of Surgery in February.

Ahmed M.S. Soliman, professor and associate chair of the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the School of Medicine, published “Benign laryngeal polyps presenting with airway obstruction” in the February issue of Annals of Otology Rhinology and Laryngology.

Paul Weinberg, senior lecturer of management information science for the Fox School of Business, and Julie Fesenmaier, instructor and associate research director of the Cochran Research Center at the Fox School of Business, published the paper “Municipal Broadband Wireless Networks: Realizing the Vision of Anytime, Anywhere Connectivity” in Communications of the Association for Computing Machinery, in February.

Jin J. Luo, assistant professor and director of EmG/neuromuscular medicine in the departments of Neurology and Pharmacology in the School of Medicine, co-presented the abstract “Normative data for visual evoked potential: comparison of pattern reversal and light-emitting diode goggle techniques” and “Utility of dynamic F-wave study in differentiating neurogenic (nTOS) from vascular thoracic outlet syndrome (vTOS)” at the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society meeting in Savannah, Ga., which was held Feb.15 to 17.

 

Bill Dunkelberg, professor of economics at the Fox School of Business, gave an economic overview of the local economy on Feb. 20, at the 2008 REAL Small Business Economic Forecast event in Philadelphia.

 

David B. Smith, professor of risk insurance and healthcare management at the Fox School of Business, presented “Concierge Medicine and the Plight of the Primary Care Physician” and “Shaping the Future of Medical Practice: Legal and Ethical Considerations” at the Beasley School of Law symposium on Feb. 22.

 

Rachel L. Coppola, assistant director of the Center for Student Professional Development, was a panelist at the Feb 15. Fattah Conference on Higher Education Pre-College Forum, held at the Sheraton Philadelphia Center City Hotel. The title of the panel discussion was “Everything You Wanted to Know about College.” Approximately 400 high school students participated.
